His Holiness Pope Alexander II (in Latin Alexander Secundus) is the Pope number 156 of the Catholic Church.

Anselmo de Baggio was born in Milán, in the current country of Italy.

The Holy Father Alexander II initiated his pontificate in the year 1061. He succeeded Pope Nicholas II. His papacy lasted for 12 years, ending during the year 1073. He was succeeded by Gregory VII, who would become the following bishop of Rome.
