His Holiness Pope Anicetus (in Latin Anicetus) is the Pope number 11 of the Catholic Church.

was born in Siria, in the current country of Syrian arab republic.

The Holy Father Anicetus initiated his pontificate in the year 155. He succeeded Pope Pius I. His papacy lasted for 11 years, ending during the year 166. He was succeeded by Soter, who would become the following bishop of Rome.
