His Holiness Pope Benedict VIII (in Latin Benedictus Octavus) is the Pope number 143 of the Catholic Church.

Teofilacto II (Conde de Túsculo) was born in Roma, in the current country of Italy.

The Holy Father Benedict VIII initiated his pontificate in the year 1012. He succeeded Pope Sergius IV. His papacy lasted for 12 years, ending during the year 1024. He was succeeded by John XIX, who would become the following bishop of Rome.
