His Holiness Pope Benedict XII (in Latin Benedictus Duodecimus) is the Pope number 197 of the Catholic Church.

Jacobo Fournier was born in Toulouse, in the current country of France.

The Holy Father Benedict XII initiated his pontificate in the year 1334. He succeeded Pope John XXII. His papacy lasted for 8 years, ending during the year 1342. He was succeeded by Clement VI, who would become the following bishop of Rome.
