His Holiness Pope Boniface VIII (in Latin Bonifacius Octavus) is the Pope number 193 of the Catholic Church.

Benito Gaetani was born in Anagni, in the current country of Italy.

The Holy Father Boniface VIII initiated his pontificate in the year 1294. He succeeded Pope Celestine V. His papacy lasted for 9 years, ending during the year 1303. He was succeeded by Blessed Benedict XI, who would become the following bishop of Rome.
