His Holiness Pope Celestine I (in Latin Coelestinus) is the Pope number 43 of the Catholic Church.

was born in Campania, in the current country of Italy.

The Holy Father Celestine I initiated his pontificate in the year 422. He succeeded Pope Boniface I. His papacy lasted for 10 years, ending during the year 432. He was succeeded by Sixtus III, who would become the following bishop of Rome.
