The pope Gregory VII

His Holiness Pope Gregory VII (in Latin Gregorius Septimus) is the Pope number 157 of the Catholic Church.

Hildebrando de Toscana was born in Roma, in the current country of Italy.

The Holy Father Gregory VII initiated his pontificate in the year 1073. He succeeded Pope Alexander II. His papacy lasted for 12 years, ending during the year 1085. He was succeeded by Blessed Victor III, who would become the following bishop of Rome.
