The pope Julius III

His Holiness Pope Julius III (in Latin Iulius Tertius) is the Pope number 221 of the Catholic Church.

Giovanni Maria Ciocchi del Monte was born in Roma, in the current country of Italy.

The Holy Father Julius III initiated his pontificate in the year 1549. He succeeded Pope Paul III. His papacy lasted for 6 years, ending during the year 1555. He was succeeded by Marcellus II, who would become the following bishop of Rome.
