His Holiness Pope Leo IX (in Latin Leo Nonus) is the Pope number 152 of the Catholic Church.

Bruno de Egisheim-Dagsbourg was born in Alsacia, in the current country of Italy.

The Holy Father Leo IX initiated his pontificate in the year 1049. He succeeded Pope Damasus II. His papacy lasted for 5 years, ending during the year 1054. He was succeeded by Victor II, who would become the following bishop of Rome.
