The pope Nicholas I

His Holiness Pope Nicholas I (in Latin Nicolaus) is the Pope number 105 of the Catholic Church.

Nicolás was born in Roma, in the current country of Italy.

The Holy Father Nicholas I initiated his pontificate in the year 858. He succeeded Pope Benedict III. His papacy lasted for 9 years, ending during the year 867. He was succeeded by Adrian II, who would become the following bishop of Rome.
