His Holiness Pope Pelagius I (in Latin Pelagius) is the Pope number 60 of the Catholic Church.

was born in Roma, in the current country of Italy.

The Holy Father Pelagius I initiated his pontificate in the year 556. He succeeded Pope Vigilius. His papacy lasted for 5 years, ending during the year 561. He was succeeded by John III, who would become the following bishop of Rome.
