The pope Pius I

His Holiness Pope Pius I (in Latin Pius) is the Pope number 10 of the Catholic Church.

was born in Aquilea, in the current country of Italy.

The Holy Father Pius I initiated his pontificate in the year 140. He succeeded Pope Hyginus. His papacy lasted for 15 years, ending during the year 155. He was succeeded by Anicetus, who would become the following bishop of Rome.
