His Holiness Pope Pius VI (in Latin Pius Sextus) is the Pope number 250 of the Catholic Church.

Giovanni Angelo Braschi was born in Cesena, in the current country of Italy.

The Holy Father Pius VI initiated his pontificate in the year 1775. He succeeded Pope Clement XIV. His papacy lasted for 24 years, ending during the year 1799. He was succeeded by Pius VII, who would become the following bishop of Rome.
