His Holiness Pope Pius XI (in Latin Pius Undecimus) is the Pope number 259 of the Catholic Church.

Achille Ratti was born in Desio, Milán, in the current country of Italy.

The Holy Father Pius XI initiated his pontificate in the year 1922. He succeeded Pope Benedict XV. His papacy lasted for 17 years, ending during the year 1939. He was succeeded by Pius XII, who would become the following bishop of Rome.
