His Holiness Pope Sixtus V (in Latin Xystus Quintus) is the Pope number 227 of the Catholic Church.

Felix Perretti was born in Grottamare, in the current country of Italy.

The Holy Father Sixtus V initiated his pontificate in the year 1585. He succeeded Pope Gregory XIII. His papacy lasted for 5 years, ending during the year 1590. He was succeeded by Urban VII, who would become the following bishop of Rome.
