His Holiness Pope Soter (in Latin Soterius) is the Pope number 12 of the Catholic Church.

was born in Campania, in the current country of Italy.

The Holy Father Soter initiated his pontificate in the year 166. He succeeded Pope Anicetus. His papacy lasted for 9 years, ending during the year 175. He was succeeded by Eleutherius, who would become the following bishop of Rome.
