His Holiness Pope Stephen I (in Latin Stephanus) is the Pope number 23 of the Catholic Church.

was born in Roma, in the current country of Italy.

The Holy Father Stephen I initiated his pontificate in the year 254. He succeeded Pope Lucius I. His papacy lasted for 3 years, ending during the year 257. He was succeeded by Sixtus II, who would become the following bishop of Rome.
