His Holiness Pope Vigilius (in Latin Vigilius) is the Pope number 59 of the Catholic Church.

was born in Roma, in the current country of Italy.

The Holy Father Vigilius initiated his pontificate in the year 537. He succeeded Pope Silverius. His papacy lasted for 18 years, ending during the year 555. He was succeeded by Pelagius I, who would become the following bishop of Rome.
