Saint Leander of Seville

Bishop
Member of a family of Cartagena, Leander was born around the year 549. Took part in the conversion to Catholicism of saint Hermenegild, and after his brother Recaredo, achieving with this the Catholic unity of the nation. He was Archbishop of Seville and presided at the third Council of Toledo (589 year). His influence was decisive in the development and subsequent splendor of the Church.

He died about the year 600, and his body was moved to Seville Cathedral.
