His Holiness Pope Benedict XIV (in Latin Benedictus Quartus Decimus) is the Pope number 247 of the Catholic Church.

Prospero Lorenzo Lambertini was born in Bolonia, in the current country of Italy.

The Holy Father Benedict XIV initiated his pontificate in the year 1740. He succeeded Pope Clement XII. His papacy lasted for 18 years, ending during the year 1758. He was succeeded by Clement XIII, who would become the following bishop of Rome.
